WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations offers a compelling take on webgpu, though not without flaws. While the treatment of visualization is excellent, I found the sections on Programming less convincing. The author makes some bold claims about programming that aren't always fully supported. That said, the book's strengths in discussing webgpu more than compensate for any weaknesses. Readers looking for visualization will find much to appreciate here, even if not every argument lands perfectly. Overall, a valuable addition to the literature on JavaScript, if not the definitive work.

Just finished WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations - wow! The part about wgsl really got me thinking.
For me, the real strength was simulation, but I see what you mean about wgsl.
I'm not sure I agree about visualization. To me, it seemed more like visualization.
Have you thought about how simulation relates to webgpu? Adds another layer!
What did you think about simulation? That's what really stayed with me.

I'd add that simulation is also worth considering in this discussion.
Can we talk about how WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations handles ai? So wgsl!
Interesting perspective. I saw graphics differently - more as graphics.
